Art Nouveau Movement
"Nothing is art if it does not come from nature." - Antoni Gaudi
Art nouveau is an international philosophy most popular during 1890-1910. A reaction to the academic art in the 19th century, it was inspired by natural forms and structure, not only in flowers and plants but also in curved lines. Architects following the movement try to harmonise with nature.
Perhaps the most well-known architect of art nouveau movement is Antoni Gaudi, a Spanish architect with distinctive, unique style and the designer of the celebrated icon in Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia.
